FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) announced today the appointment of Bo Reese as senior director for state and local government. After serving more than 30 years in state and city government roles, Reese will provide strategic direction and program delivery to GDIT’s state and local government agency customers.

Reese’s leadership and management experience in state and local government includes his most recent role as city manager for Miami, Okla., where he oversaw the delivery of critical electric and water services to more than 13,000 residents. Prior to this role, he spearheaded Oklahoma Department of Transportation’s modernization efforts as its chief technology officer.

Previously, he also served as the state’s chief information officer, where he oversaw information technology services for state agencies, saving more than $350 million from IT consolidation initiatives. Reese advocated the state's use of cloud, launched a technology innovation initiative called Innovate Oklahoma and enhanced the state’s cybersecurity posture.

"Reese has an outstanding track record of successfully leading transformational IT programs for state and local agencies," said Scott Mack, GDIT vice president of state and local government. "His mission knowledge and technical expertise will enable us to continue delivering innovative technologies to accelerate our customers’ IT modernization goals.”

Reese served as president of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers; received a commendation from Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin for his leadership of the FirstNet interoperable communication network and nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network; and was recognized as an outstanding alumnus from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
