Kamal Narang will lead thousands of employees in the division


FALLS CHURCH, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a business unit of General Dynamics, announced today that it has formed a new Federal Health Division.

Kamal Narang, GDIT’s senior vice president for Federal Health, will lead thousands of employees in the division supporting more than 20 federal health agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Military Health System.

“Over the last few years, our health business has grown significantly under Kamal’s leadership,” said Amy Gilliland, GDIT’s president. “Forming this new division reinforces our commitment to provide innovative and differentiated health solutions and services that provide long-term value to our customers.”

GDIT has won more than $4 billion in new business and recompete federal health contract awards over the last three years. This includes a $2.5 billion indefinite delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to modernize Indian Health Service’s electronic health record system, a $450 million contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to operate and modernize one of the largest accounting systems in the world, and an $84 million contract to support the Defense Health Agency’s Traumatic Brain Injury Center of Excellence.

With this change, GDIT now has four divisions – Defense, Federal Civilian, Federal Health, and Intelligence and Homeland Security – that deliver consulting, technology and mission services to every major agency across the U.S. government.
