Systems Engineer Senior

Manage and execute engineering activities that include developing technical approaches and plans that support customer’s desired capabilities, determination of scope of work tasks to complete the technical effort and estimating time to accomplish the work tasks and establishing feasible schedules based on resource availability on systems.

Job Description

• Develops advanced engineering concepts and guides development to a final product
• Develops advanced solutions to a variety of highly complex engineering problems
• Develop and implement an approach for the capture, analysis and trace of artifacts that provide the requirements of the system’s performance, function and allocated baseline and maintain traceability from engineering products back to user defined capabilities
• Provide systems and technical engineering services by implementing disciplined System Engineering processes across tactical and training systems. Engineering services include planning, developing hardware requirements, interface design, testing, configuration management, data management, decision analysis, technical review, fielding support and documentation
• Support software (SW) engineering development and support services on systems
• Support the operational requirement/user/operational test community to ensure the concept of operations (CONOPS) is detailed enough to verify and validate system performance and operational capability.
• Develop design reference missions, use cases, Systems Modeling Language and Unified Model Language model diagrams
• Estimate time to accomplish the work tasks and establish feasible schedules and resources

Education and Experience

Master's level degree in an engineering discipline; Ten (10) years of professional experience in systems engineering in any of the following areas: requirements definition, system design parameters, concept operation, risk assessment, productivity studies/analyses, performance analyses, test and evaluation, post-delivery support.

Or

Bachelor's level degree in an engineering discipline with twelve (12) years of professional experience in systems engineering in any of the following areas: requirements definition, system design parameters, concept operation, risk assessment, productivity studies/analyses, performance analyses, test and evaluation, post-delivery support.

Desired Professional Experience: Engineering experience supporting U.S. Navy providing services and support for Combat Systems that range from unit level systems such as Sensor Distribution Systems (SDS), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), AEGIS, ZUMWALT, Integrated Combat System (ICS) and any future Combat Systems to operational level Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Cyber security, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C6ISR) is highly desired.
