Job Description

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. We are seeking an IT Operations and Maintenance Lead to help lead a new award opportunity in the Northern Virginia.

This program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable the customer to consolidate, modernize, and continuously innovate the delivery of IT services and mission capabilities. These services will deliver exceptional execution value to internal and external mission partners operating in CONUS and OCONUS locations.

As the IT Operations and Maintenance Lead, you will serve as the key person to lead, coordinate, and provide subject-matter expertise on implementation, operation, maintenance, and advanced delivery services (e.g., DevSecOps, Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), containerization technologies, etc.) for this program. You will also be responsible for staffing the Operations and Maintenance personnel and coordinating with key functional leads – ie Engineering Lead, Service Desk Lead, Cybersecurity Lead, etc.

You will supervise and manage the following tasks:

  • Lead activities of the IT operations team related to general management of customer services, maintenance of existing HW and SW, monitoring of system and service performance.
  • Support services for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICs environments.
  • Responsibilities include Service Operations, Data Center Services, IT Service Continuity, Information Security Management, Account Services, Directory Services, Authentication and Authorization Services, and Tools and Data management.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes
  • Assess performance and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Lead the O&M’s team’s troubleshooting efforts to isolate and diagnose common system problems; documents system events to ensure continuous functioning. 
  • Utilize and ensure the team’s utilization of standard tools to record change and problem activities for tracking purposes. 
  • Work closely with team members on testing, upgrades and configuration of system and services. 
  • Support DevSecOps-enabled delivery methodologies, technologies, platforms, and/or pipelines.
  • Train, mentor and motivate team to meet individual, team and contractual obligations and thresholds while ensuring individual career growth and development.
  • Prepare reports and/or makes recommendations regarding new technology to senior leadership.
  • Deliver executive-level technical briefings and presentations to senior Government personnel.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 8+ years of experience leading, coordinating, and providing subject-matter expertise on implementation, operation, maintenance, and advanced delivery services:
    • Experience supporting DevSecOps-enabled delivery methodologies, technologies, platforms, and/or pipelines.
    • Experience supporting services for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICs environments.
    • Experience delivering executive-level technical briefings and presentations to senior Government personnel.
  • One or more DoDD 8140.01 certifications
  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Version 4 Foundation and one or more ITIL Practice Manager, Managing Professional, or Strategic Leader certifications.
  • TS/SCI

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $153,000 - $207,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
