Job Description

GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior System Administrator in Japan. The Senior System Administrator will provide support for Global Command & Control System (GCCS), Global Broadcast Service (GBS), TROJAN SATCOM, Video Teleconferencing (VTC), and provide Information Management Office (IMO) Technician duties in a Current Operations Information Center (COIC) environment supporting TROJAN, Mission command Systems (MCS), Army Intelligence Data Platform (AIDP), Distributed Common Ground System - Army (DCGS-A), Joint Targeting Integrated Command and Coordination Suite (JTIC2S), Joint Automated Deep Operations Coordination System (JADOCS), Command Post of the Future (CPOF), Joint Battle Command – Platform (JBC-P), Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), and other programs.

Successful applicant must have an active U.S. Government-issued Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility. They must be a self-starter and have a high degree of telecommunications and network systems knowledge. 

How the Sr. Network/System Administrator will make an impact:

  • Provide hardware configuration, server administration, and sustainment of the GCCS.

  • Provide hardware configuration, server administration, and sustainment of the GBS.

  • Provide hardware configuration, server administration, and sustainment of the TROJAN SATCOM system.

  • Provide meeting setup, hardware configuration, server administration, and sustainment of the VTC.

  • Provide lower-level IT IMO support; configure and maintain computers, image hard drives, activate accounts, etc. for 150 computer workstations.

  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and repair network connectivity on numerous devices, to include routers and switches in a telecommunications room.

  • Maintain technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.

  • Provide operations support for AN/PRC-162 radios.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • BA/BS plus 6 years’ experience, AA/AS/plus 8 years’ experience, or a High School diploma and 10 years’ experience

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Network+ certification

  • Security+ certification

  • Cloud/Virtual Desktop Environment (VDE) experience

  • SATCOM experience

  • VTC experience

  • Tactical Radio experience

  • Strong knowledge with demonstrated experience using GCCS, GBS, and TROJAN

  • Possess extensive knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods.

  • Excellent multi-tasking and organization skills. Must manage multiple simultaneous projects and prioritize assignments and tasks accordingly, remaining flexible to changing priorities and new initiatives.

  • US passport valid for at least 2 years

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
