Engineering Technician I

This technician performs simple routine tasks under close supervision, detailed procedures, or blueprints.

This person performs one or a combination of such typical duties as:

a. Mechanical assembly and install of equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting.

b. Performing simple or routine tasks or tests operating and adjusting simple test equipment; recording test data accurately.

c. Simple fabrication of parts, assemblies, and test fixtures to support multiple programs at GDIT Pawcatuck location using hand and power tools such as saws, drill press and milling machines.

d. Ability to perform wide range of tasking to support mechanical production.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

AA/AS Degree or equivalent years of related experience
0-1 years of related experience

Good attitude and aptitude

Understanding of shop math

Ability to operate power and hand tools

Ability to work within a motivated small team

Able to lift 50 pounds or more on daily basis

Ability to work on special projects as required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $18.70 - $25.30. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
