Job Description

Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System - Navy Personnel and Pay (NSIPS-NP2) is the Navy's single, field-entry, electronic pay and personnel system for all USN/USNR Sailors. We are seeking Shipboard Systems Administrator to join our team in New Orleans, LA.

Duties include:

  • Installing, upgrading, monitoring and maintaining/troubleshooting MS Windows servers 2008R2, 2012 and 2019 in a virtual VMware environment

  • Deploy, Configure, Maintain/Troubleshoot MS Windows 2008R2, 2012 and 2019 server images using OVF templates and/or SmartDeploy onboard Navy ships (Remotely and/or onsite)  

  • Troubleshoot/Fix Connectivity Issues; Process and deploy Security Vulnerabilities, Maintenance and Remediation 

  • Some Travel is required  

  • Must be able to lift/pickup servers up to 60 Lbs 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • 5+ years of experience working as a systems administrator in a Windows and Hyper-V or VSphere virtualization (VM) environment; familiar with Networking basics, router configuration and remote access services.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft products and Windows scripting. 

  • Experience working with Action/Trouble Request Systems such as Remedy to track, resolve and escalate trouble tickets 

  • Experience with DoD certificate creation and revocation 

  • Security+ minimum certification

  • Secret clearance

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $88,275 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
