Job Description

GDIT is conducting a search for a skilled and motivated IT Ops Platform Integration SME which will support our OCTO growth and AIOPS Digital Accelerator teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must have the ability to work a hybrid schedule 3 days per week in Falls Church, VA.

HOW the ITOps Platform Integration SME WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Perform IT OPs platform integrations and enhancements in our lab to deliver advanced AIOps capabilities based on customer use cases.
  • Research, evaluate and select modern and emerging technologies that offer innovative capabilities and that are viable for government customers.
  • Serve as a thought leader to achieve resilient automated & autonomous IT operational capabilities.  
  •  Deliver value-added services, efficiencies, cost savings, improve enterprise IT observability, customer experience, and increase the resilience of Federal IT enterprises through AIOps solutions.
  •  Participate in demonstrations & discussions around solutions and GDIT AIOps capabilities with external customers and internal teams.
  • Research and identify IT Operations solutions fit for use in Federal Government customer requirements.
  • Serve as a bridge between disparate IT Ops systems to ensure they efficiently work together; improving productivity, streamline workflows and enable data driven decision making for IT operational teams.
  • Develop and build extensible and reusable prototypes to address specific customer use case scenarios as part of sales or delivery engagements.
  • Support growth initiatives and deliver work products, inclusive of presentations, narrated videos, marketing materials, develop automation playbooks and scripts, and more.
  • Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve platform capabilities.
  • Provide technical writing and systems engineering expertise to create implementation artifacts such as build, configuration, reference, and deployment guides, and OV-1/SV-1 diagrams of engineered solutions.
  • Implement and optimize tools that natively provide AI/ML capabilities within the customers IT Ops toolchain to enable detection of performance anomalies, prediction of outages, automate incident responses, and improve overall operational resilience of the IT Infrastructure.
  • Support capture & proposal development as well as on-contract efforts to design, bid, and bring GDIT’s AIOps solutions to customers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Batchelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business-related field
  • Required Experience: 15 years+ of progressive technical leadership implementation, and customer engagement.
  • Required Knowledge & Skills:
    • Experience with various IT Monitoring, Observability and to monitor system health and performance. 
    • Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience in automating solutions relevant in the IT Enterprise leveraging Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) design principles, platform-native APIs, Data Model Design for IT Operations Data, ITSM Platform development, configuration, integration, and in-depth troubleshooting experience.
    • Experience with software development and scripting using languages such as (YAML, Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) within Automation contexts.
    • Strong hands-on experience with technologies like ScienceLogic, Splunk, ServiceNow ITOM, Intelligent Automation Platforms and AIOPs tools.  
    • Deep understanding of monitoring/observability architecture and event management. Ability to configure and optimize complex monitoring environments.
    • Experience with tuning and optimizing monitoring policies, event rules, and configuration of Operational Intelligence.
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of multi-disciplinary engineering teams to rapidly tackle evolving challenges in the field of IT OPs. 
    • Deliver capabilities to successfully meet business requirements and performance benchmarks.
    • Familiarity with event drive architectures
    • Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders to understand needs and to clearly articulate technological concepts.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify root causes and optimize AI/ML models and systems.
  • Desired Certifications: Security +, AIOPS Foundation & Observabilities Foundations, IT Operations tool specific tool certifications, ServiceNow Platform Certifications.
  • Security Clearance Level: Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance
  • Location: Hybrid position working at our GDIT Headquarters in Falls Church, VA.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $178,500 - $241,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
