Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology Inc (GDIT) is seeking someone qualified for the Data Governance Specialist role to support and continue to grow the HRSA/NPDB account. As part of this team, we are providing leading data analytics, Business Intelligence (BI), Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) services for our federal clients to enable innovative, effective, and secure business processes. This role needs working collaboratively with a high-performance team, and help establish and implement data governance policies, and framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate, and moderate data governance requirements gathering sessions
  • Elicit and collect high level requirements.
  • Develop data governance policies and a framework
  • Assisting in modernizing data analytics by establishing data governance rules

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 6 years of related experience and at least 2 years of experience in Data Governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to moderate discussions enabling participants to articulate ideas on topics; recognize and manage various viewpoints; and gain consensus among various stakeholder groups.
  • Experience defining data governance strategies, policies, and procedures as well as data sharing agreements.
  • Experience leading and advising on best practices for data governance, data security and compliance.
  • Experience developing data governance frameworks and guidelines.
  • Experience working closely with data stewards, and consumers to improve data discovery, data quality, data definitions, and data lineage.
  • Experience Selecting data governance tools and technologies for the data governance initiatives.
  • Experience Developing use cases, managing requirements traceability, and a working knowledge of requirements management repository tools.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
