Job Description

Candidates with proven depth creating solutions with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, VoIP, and PBX will be positioned for success in our organization. The selected candidate will design, build and deploy, and administer large scale voice networks. The engineer will provide support to multiple globally dispersed WAN connected sites. Engineers will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support. Project assignments will vary based on skill level, and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and defines system architecture for Cisco based voice infrastructure and end-points
  • Identifies and resolves technical problems related to the installation, upgrade and daily operations of the customer’s globally dispersed VoIP infrastructure
  • Maintain the existing Cisco VoIP environment consisting of Cisco Unified Communications Manager and various models of Cisco and Polycom phones
  • Architecting solutions within the Cisco family of products that may include: CUCM, IM and Presence, Unity, Meeting Servers, Expressway, Meeting Management, Jabber client
  • Design and migration of existing TDM solutions leveraging Session Border Controller technology
  • Develop and document voice SOPs for engineers and Knowledge Base articles for end-users
  • Work with voice providers from other Government agencies and commercial partners to ensure seamless call performance
  • Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients

Required Skills:

  • Experience with Cisco Unified Call Manager / Cisco Meeting Server
  • Experience with Cisco Meeting Manager
  • Experience with Cisco Jabber
  • Experience with Cisco Telepresence Management Suite and Cisco Expressways is desired
  • Experience with the configuration of voice end-point hardware
  • Experience with PBX technologies is desired
  • Experience with Avaya Call Management System would be beneficial, but not required
  • Experience with TDM and SBC
  • Experience building/managing servers in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment is desired
  • Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
  • System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
  • Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $134,597 - $136,367. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
