Job Description

Engineering Technician III

The contractor shall provide onsite support to conduct specified engineering/technical evaluations, perform equipment functional checks, perform troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair to correct MK 45 5-Inch Gun System maintenance, installation, and connectivity faults. The SME shall provide Onboard Maintenance Training (OBMT) to Ship's Force technicians in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of the MK 45 5-Inch Gun System.

The SME shall perform/provide support during shipboard Combat Systems tasks including Pier Side Refurbishments, ICMP, TSRA, INSURV programs and Tech Assist events.

General Experience: At least (8) years of experience within the last 15 years in operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and assessment of MK 45 5-Inch Gun System found onboard US Navy ships.

Specialized Experience: SME shall possess 5”/54 and/or 5”/62 Mk 45 Gun Mount systems Navy Class “C” school NEC 0879/0880, with a minimum of (4) years full-time technical experience within the last 10 years, in troubleshooting and repair of equipment within the scope of this NEC.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $31.87 - $43.13. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
