Job Description

GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Engineer, Associate maintaining Tactical/Commercial ECUs and HVAC systems in Korea. Successful applicant must have a valid passport, be a self-starter, and have a high degree of craftsmanship\quality in their work and be able to obtain a U.S. Government issued SECRET clearance. 

How the HVAC Mechanic will make an impact:

  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, Chillers, and Environmental Control Units – some are standalone units and others are mounted on trailers and vehicles.
  • Use precision test equipment including various electrical meters, micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Evacuate, pressure test, recharge, and evaluate complex environmental control systems.
  • Custom fit copper and aluminum tubing, braze, and fabricate basic sheet metal components.
  • Some work will be in a large depot level shop environment and some work will be in a field environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successful

  • Able to lift and carry 75 pounds.
  • Able to obtain an AAA international driver’s license.
  • Environmental Protection Agency EPA 608 Universal certificate.
  • BA/BS plus 2 years’ experience, AA/AS/plus 4 years’ experience, or a High School diploma and 7 years’ experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. Government SECRET clearance.
  • US passport must not expire for at least 2 years.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $64,600 - $87,400. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
