Field Technician II

Our work depends on Field Technician II joining our team to ensure MK 41 VLS equipment is maintained and tested to the stringent VLS requirements to maintain National Security.

HOW A FIELD TECHNICIAN II WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
● Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment.
● Will work with GDIT VLS Team to ensure operational status of contracted VLS work is completed to required procedures and specifications.
● Will work with GDIT VLS Team to identify and correct any deficiencies found.
● Will work with a competitive and highly trusted GDIT VLS Team.
● The support the GDIT VLS Team provides ensures the Fleet and Program are maintained to the highest levels.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Required Experience: 2 years of related USN Shipboard MK 41 VLS Shipboard maintenance.
● Required Technical Skills: Ability to assist in the Removal, Overhaul, Test, and/or Installation VLS Cell Hatches, Uptake Hatches, Deluge Valves, Deluge Hoses, Marotta Valves, Hy-Check Valves, Root and Isolation System Valves under direction supervision of qualified VLS System Maintenance Technician (SMT) or Test Director (TD) in accordance with NAVSEA requirements, Navy MRCs, VLS Authorized Procedures, and Technical Manuals.
● Security Clearance Level: Secret. Must have or be able to obtain both a security clearance and a DBIDS/CAC.
● Required Skills and Abilities: Solving, Communication, Microsoft Word and Excel, and understanding of basic Hand/Power Tools, Test Equipment and Gauge Calibration. Heavy lifting is required and prolong standing on Naval deck plates.
● Preferred Skills: MK-41 VLS NEC 0981 is desired, but not required.
● Location: Chesapeake, VA

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $21.97 - $28.75. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
