Job Description

General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate opening for an on-site C++ Software Engineer/Developer with AWS experience working with a company that is committed to pushing the limits of truly advanced technologies. We apply advanced technologies such as Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, AR/VR, and Cloud computing to solve our customer and mission challenges. As a Software Engineer, you'll work with a team of extraordinary scientists, engineers, and analysts. Together you'll perform software tasks across the development lifecycle from research, design and code through test and deployment.

From inventing new products or enhancing existing applications, your talent and leadership abilities will be front and center.

What you bring to the table:

  • Thorough understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Expert at applying technical standards and methodologies to resolve issues in creative ways and help company meet financial and business objectives.
  • Very strong knowledge of software tools supporting Integrated Development Environments (IDE), version control, defect reporting and scripting.
  • Responsibilities for this Position
  • Programming Paradigms include -- functional programming, algorithms, parallel
  • and distributed processing, multi-threaded programming, cloud computing, scientific computing and object-oriented design.
  • Frameworks and libraries include -- Agile, Amazon Web Services (AWS), AWS Lambda, AWS SQS/Kafka, Traditional Web Services, ActiveMQ, and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Operation systems include -- Linux, Windows/NT.
  • Microservice architecture implementation.
  • Familiarity with complete SW engineering lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with generic (template) programming.
  • Familiarity with code reuse and refactoring in a rapid prototyping environment.
  • Proficiency in C++, especially modern standards (C++11, C++14, and C++17).
  • Familiarity with reading, writing, debugging, and testing C++, C, and Python.
  • Experience with profiling and optimizing source code.
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms.
  • Familiarity with distributed programming using Amazon Web Services.
  • Familiarity with designing XML schemas and coding input/output.
  • Knowledge and experience with Continuous Development/Continuous Integration (CD/CI) technologies including Rancher, Kubernetes, Knative Eventing/Serving for CloudEvent communications, Docker Containers, Micro-services, GitLab, Helm, and Skaffold.
  • Frameworks and libraries include -- Agile, Amazon Web Services (AWS), AWS Lambda, AWS SQS, Traditional Web Services and the Microsoft Office suite.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
