Job Description

GDIT is excited to support the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in meeting their mission to protect investors, maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitate capital formation. The SEC ISS program is a comprehensive IT program charged with operating, managing, and advancing the SEC’s IT infrastructure. Our dynamic program team of IT leaders and large and small business partners is seeking bright, energetic and talented individuals to join us as we bring our innovative IT Service Delivery solutions to SEC.

We are currently seeking an AV Streaming/Signage Engineer to support the program in Washington, DC. Candidates must be US Citizens (without dual citizenship) and eligible to obtain an SEC Public Trust suitability. The duties and required skills are below:

Duties: 

  • Performs day-to-day activities required to manage AV/Video Streaming infrastructure such as design, implementation, and management. 
  • Provides break/fix support to Video Streaming systems, Digital signage systems and endpoints.
  • Provide on-site and off-site support of SEC events. (Some Travel Required) 
  • Maintain servers for internal streaming channels
  • Maintain and update the AV Checklists in SharePoint
  • POC for Tier 2 and 3 escalations from AV Technicians and Collaboration Engineers
  • Implement appropriate streaming formats, profiles and technologies employed for internal, external webcasting.
  • Recommend new formats and/or requirements for future webcasting needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of and relationship with external video CDN provider.
  • Maintain video switcher, audio mixer, cameras and ancillary equipment
  • Ability to offer custom video and audio feeds to stakeholders and press
  • Coordinate significant upgrades and maintenance by leveraging AV engineering group
  • Maintain current VOD file server and associated user webpages
  • Work with video editor to develop in-house Closed Captioning process
  • Work with Video Editor in developing Video On Demand process and resource

Experience:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience and extensive skills and knowledge in configuring and operating IP streaming video codecs using unicast and multicast networking protocols for intranet/IntraLAN environments, as well as public internet/DMZ handoffs to CDNs (Content Delivery Networks). 
  • Install, configure and maintain Video Portals for live-streaming and on-demand. 
  • Experience designing and maintaining corporate Digital Signage infrastructure.  
  • Must possess experience coordinating complex audio and video live streaming events using various technologies (on-site or off-site). 
  • Experience configuring video codecs with external 3rd party Closed Captioning vendors.
  • Ability to offer custom feeds for ad-hoc external displays, feeds per special event (clean/dirty ME1, hallway monitors and so forth).
  • Ability to add additional inputs (laptops, cameras, video players)
  • Operational knowledge of Panasonic PTZ (AW-UE100 series)

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $95,625 - $129,375. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
