Job Description

GDIT is seeking an O365 Automation Engineer with experience automating tenant configurations in a Microsoft Office 365 deployment using REST API, PowerShell, M365DSC, etc to provide support for the Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS) Cloud Service Offering contract. This position will require the employee to report full-time onsite in either Chantilly, VA (preferred) or Fort Meade, MD.

HOW AN O365 AUTOMATION ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
The Automation Engineer, working as part of a team, will receive guidance from Department Tenant Administrators on required configurations and develop the optimal delivery methodology to deploy and maintain continuous compliance with desired configurations. With minimal guidance, the Automation Engineer will also:

  • Provide top-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis. 

  • Design architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. 

  • Ensure these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for DoD architectures. 

  • Determine and identifies high level functional and technical requirements based on interactions with the user community and knowledge of the enterprise architecture. Identifies, assesses, and presents options for meeting the functional and technical requirements including hardware and software updates or upgrades. 

  • Interact with project management to plan project schedules and technical direction. 

  • Develop software design documents and technology white papers and is instrumental in selection of development tools. 

  • Responsible for developing high level system design diagrams, testing, and documentation. Instructs, directs, and checks the work of other task personnel. 

  • Responsible for quality assurance review and the evaluation of existing and new software products.

  • Review existing repositories and delivery methodologies and recommend optimizations or alternative DevSecOps platform(s) and protocols to enhance long-term sustainment

  • Follow software development best practices to facilitate collaboration, feature enhancement, issue tracking, testing, development, and production deployment

  • Implement Policy as Code (PaC) using platforms like Ansible, Terraform, M365DSC, etc

  • Utilize parameter driven, declarative syntax models when possible, to afford flexibility and simplicity to subscribing organizations

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED – REQUIRED:

  • CLEARANCE: Active DoD Secret clearance

  • CERTIFICATION: IAT Level II certification

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent experience in lieu of degree

  • YEAR'S EXPERIENCE: 8+ years experience

  • TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Must have experience with REST API and PowerShell.

  • Expertise in implementing, ideally for DoD customers, including the following:

  • --- Experience in Cloud, Azure, MS Office 365 support environments

  • --- Experience with languages/protocols such as Git, PowerShell, MS Graph Python, and Ruby

  • --- Familiar with O365 related API endpoints and PowerShell Modules

  • SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment

  • LOCATION: ONSITE - Must report onsite in either Chantilly, VA or Fort Meade, MD

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
