Job Description

GDIT has an opportunity for an execution focused Senior Director for Project Delivery in our A&SF (Air & Space Forces) Sector.  This sector focuses on the delivery of a wide range of IT services. You will have responsibility and accountability for working with the Business Areas and the assigned PM’s in ensuring the successful delivery of our programs. Your primary focus will be to work with the Business Areas on the successful delivery of projects from start to finish across the sector.  You will report directly to the Vice President and General Manager of the A&SF Sector. 

How A Senior Director for Project Delivery will make an impact:

  • Infrastructure and software development projects.
  • Work collaboratively with the growth team to ensure our proposals and estimates are complete, with adequate contingencies and management reserve included in our bid price. 
  • Work with the functions and bid PM’s to ensure we have adequate labor hours included in the bid to successfully deliver the project and all required design documents, CDRL’s or other project documentation. 
  • Work with the proposal team to put together a realistic IMS. Candidate will work with the team to ensure that any proposed project management tools (i.e. Foresight, Atlas) are ready for deployment or have a budgeted number of engineering hours included in the bid price to cover any project unique adaptations. 
  • Work with the team to propose an EVMS capability/certifications as required.
  • Work with the bid PM and execution teams in any pre-award activities that help prepare for successful execution upon award.
  • Upon award, work with the transition team to ensure that all transition activities are executed smoothly and the PEP, IMS and other key documents are updated per the contract terms.
  • Ensure that thorough project execution plan are put in place at project inception. EVMS or other performance monitoring tools with be established and utilized at project inception and throughout execution. 
  • In execution, you will meet regularly with the project team and monitor performance against the cost schedule and budget..
  • Build a culture throughout the team consistent with GDIT values of honesty, trust, transparency, and alignment.

  • Play a key role in developing a cadre of PM’s and functional representatives that are experienced and skilled in the execution of FFP work.  This role involves a significant amount of mentoring and coaching.

  • Provides enterprise leadership, direction, and management support and assists with the planning, supervision, and execution of all aspects of contract performance, scheduling, and technical performance while requiring strong interpersonal and communication abilities. 
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to the portfolio
  • 10+ years experience leading and managing project controls organizations
  • Must have federal contracts experience (government contract DOD preferred)
  • Fluency in Primavera or similar scheduling tools.
  • Established hands on experience managing programs of significance and/or portfolios of similar size, scope, and complexity within the portfolio’s technical area of responsibility.
  • Leadership qualities that enable employee engagement, professional development, innovation, collaboration, communication, accountability, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Business / Financial management acumen with an ability to proactively manage the financials and performance metrics of a portfolio of programs.
  • Technical understanding of the portfolio’s technical area of responsibility.
  • Customer understanding and experience building and proactively managing customer relationships successfully with customers relevant to programs in the portfolio.
  • Ability and flexibility to actively engage with customers and employees including travel to all portfolio and customer locations.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or aptitude to achieve all stated responsibilities of the position.
  • Experience and understanding of preparation REA’s / Claims and contract negotiations.
  • Good understanding of risk management including risk mitigation.
  • Location: Falls Church, VA hybrid
  • Travel: 25-50%

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $191,250 - $258,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
