Job Description

Job Requisition: Senior Desktop Systems Engineer

As a Senior Desktop Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting projects such as Unified Endpoint Management to transform the way Desktop Images are created and deployed across the organization. You will contribute your expertise in scripting and automating processes to aid our effort in achieving zero-touch image deployments. Proficiency in PowerShell, MDT, WMI, and .NET are core competencies required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Unified Endpoint Management Projects: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects aimed at transforming desktop image creation and deployment processes through Unified Endpoint Management initiatives.
  • Scripting and Automation: Develop and maintain scripts and automation workflows to streamline and automate various aspects of desktop image creation, deployment, and management, with a focus on achieving zero-touch deployments.
  • Zero-Touch Image Deployments: Work towards the goal of achieving zero-touch image deployments by implementing efficient scripting solutions and automation processes, minimizing manual intervention and ensuring consistency and reliability.
  • Expertise in PowerShell, MDT, WMI, and .NET: Leverage your expertise in PowerShell scripting, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), and .NET framework to design, develop, and implement robust automation solutions tailored to our desktop environment.
  • Troubleshooting and Optimization: Identify and resolve issues related to desktop image deployments, scripting, and automation, proactively optimizing processes to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate closely with team members and stakeholders to share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, PowerShell Certification) are a plus.
  • 10+ Years of extensive experience as a Desktop Systems Engineer or in a similar role, with a proven track record of supporting desktop infrastructure projects and initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerShell scripting, Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI), and .NET framework, with demonstrated experience in developing automation solutions for desktop environments.
  • Strong understanding of desktop imaging technologies, deployment methodologies, and best practices, with hands-on experience in image creation, customization, and deployment processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and vendors to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude, with a passion for learning and staying updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in desktop engineering and automation.
  • ITIL v4 certification is desired

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $105,622 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
