Job Description

Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Scrum Master at GDIT. You’ll apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community. Here, your work will have meaning and impact as you master new skills and deliver your best every day.

HOW BEING A SCRUM MASTER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Perform IT Project Management and Scrum Master functions for a team of 4
  • Supporting our ServiceNow division
  • Will be heavily involved in the financial ROM process
  • Manage a portfolio of 2-6 ServiceNow application projects
  • Developing and managing to a delivery roadmap
  • Estimating LOE (via hours) for forecast estimates. Drives the Scrum team to find efficiencies and to constantly improve themselves 
  • Mentors the Scrum team to be self-organization 
  • Leads the team to making their own conclusions and decisions
  • Does not make decisions on behalf of the team 
  • Shields the team from outside interference 
  • Coaches the Product Owner, Scrum team, Stakeholders, and the greater organization on Agile ideology and Scrum best practices
  • Helps all parties understand their role in Scrum and how to work together effectively 
  • What makes a good story so the team can work on it
  • Can help guide Product Owner on vision for what they want to accomplish
  • Direct engagement with contractor leadership that centers upon career development/mobility, enhanced performance evaluation, and corporate information sharing & networking opportunities

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Experience: 8+ years
  • Technical Skills:
  • Understands and facilitates Scrum ceremonies 
  • Daily Scrum 
  • Backlog Refinement 
  • Sprint Review 
  • Sprint Planning 
  • Sprint Retrospective 
  • Removes impediments for the Scrum team or escalates them to someone that can.
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
  • Skills and Abilities: 
  • Has good listening and communication skills 
  • Is patient 
  • Is a servant leader 
  • Interested in change and learning to improvement an organization in its Agile knowledge and implementation and efficiency 
  • Location: Chantilly, Customer site

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $140,250 - $189,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
