Job Description

Are you ready to make a difference at GDIT? Currently, GDIT is seeking a Program Transition Manager to lead the transition efforts in support of the CBP's Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading Edge IT, (BEAGLE) program. The Transition Manager will oversee transition activities that are critical to the execution of CBP’s mission.  The successful candidate will act as a the main POC between CBP branch chiefs and senior program management to provide strategic advice, planning, and guidance on transition in and out activities.

HOW A PROGRAM TRANSITION MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manages transition schedule, administration and support including customer briefing and or customer interactions, including hiring and supervising assigned professional and support staff
  • Analyzes current processes and workflows to help the organization run efficiently and effectively
  • Foster continual service improvement
  • Oversees and provides guidance to the team ensuring work quality and completion of projects and task
  • Drives completion of transition schedule and tasks
  • Works with customers, other teams and vendors to ensure team success
  • Manage completion of projects, changes request and incident resolution ensuring availability of services for the customer and its users
  • Provide critical analysis of current solutions and solution recommendations to identify right sized solutions that provide security, redundancy and fault tolerance
  • Keeps well-informed of new technologies and industry best practices and trends

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • BA/BS or equivalent, 5+ years of experience
  • Five (5) years of Program Management or Transition Management experience with successful program transition execution
  • Ten (10) years of government contract program management execution
  • Hands-on experience in executing successful transition of a $1B+ program with more than 500 employees
  • Effective communication skills with customer, supplier, employee and previous incumbent stakeholders
  • Experience with Microsoft Project
  • Required Certification:  PMP and/or ITIL
  • Required Technical Skills: IT Project / Program/Transition level management and general understanding of core IT concepts, experience with MS Project
  • Clearance:  Public Trust

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $161,500 - $218,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
