Job Description

Join GDIT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges. The NCIS program is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join their team at Quantico, VA.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of over 2,200 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the Department of Navy (DON) component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters.  NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. 

HOW OUR SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Administer, manage, and maintain Windows 2019 and 2022 servers

  • Experience creating, updating and maintaining baseline Windows images to include VDI

  • Responsible for Windows Server patching in an operational environment

  • Must be proficient with Domain controllers, Active Directory, LDAP, DNS servers, DHCP and Group Policy Object

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting

  • Monitors system networks and resources

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, resolve, and documents problems with business applications and hardware on all enclaves 

  • Experience deploying DISA STIGs controls and system compliance

  • Review and remediate/mitigate ACAS vulnerability scan findings

  • Oversees system recovery mechanisms 

  • High troubleshooting skill to resolve issues independently 

  • Coordinate, communicate, escalate required changes and major issues 

  • Diagnose and resolve System\server related problems

  • Respond to telephone calls and email requests for technical support 

  

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required):

  • Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret or TS/SCI clearance

  • Required Experience:

  • 7+ years of Windows server and Systems Administration experience.

  • Maintain and update windows images and have a good understanding of VDI

  • Must have prior experience with installation, operation, configuration, and maintenance of multiple types of business and end user-specific application software in a large government installation 

  • Familiarity with a variety of technical support applications, concepts, practices, and procedures  

  • Required Certifications: DoD 8570 IAT Level II (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA-Security)

  • Education: BS/BA Degree

  • Location: Hybrid - onsite at Quantico, VA & Remote

  • US Citizenship required

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $101,566 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
