Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Strategic Advisor to support the critical mission of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) a $50M+ business. This role provides a unique opportunity to support our CDC customer to ensure excellent performance of our diversified IT mission and Bioinformatics portfolio; partner with our Business Development, Capture and Solution teams to grow the business; and ensure we retain and attract exceptional talent.  As the advisor for this business, you will set the strategic direction while aligning with the broader business area, sector and division strategies to ensure we exceed the needs and expectations of our customer, employees, and business.

The ideal candidate will be local to the Atlanta area and available to come to the office at least one day per week.

How You Will Make An Impact:

  • Provide customer and technical expertise for the CDC portfolio, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
  • Drive growth – in collaboration with the Business Area, Sector, and Division resources; must deliver a strong book-to-bill, re-compete wins, and YoY new business growth.
  • Ensure alignment with Business Area, Sector and Division, and Company strategy and objectives.

What You’ll Need to Succeed (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, science, or related discipline. 
  • 15+ years of experience leading programs or portfolios of similar or greater size at CDC.
  • Recognized expert and leader in the marketplace with extensive knowledge of the CDC mission, including scientific and bioinformatics.
  • Ability to coordinate, manage, and supervise the activities related to CDC Account operations and strategy.
  • Strong understanding of IT services, Scientific Computing and Bioinformatics.
  • Ability to effectively engage with C-suite leadership.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
  • Ability to motivate teams to perform exceptionally over long stretches of time and in challenging situations.
  • Ability to communicate exceptionally, including customer and board-level briefings.

What Would Be Even Better (preferred):

  • Master’s degree.
  • 20+ years of experience supporting CDC.
  • Long-standing working relationships with current CDC leaders and decisions makers.
  • Significant proposal preparation and costing/pricing analysis skill.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant corporate and government regulations and standards.
  • Experience serving the broader HHS federal market.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $127,254 - $42,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
