The Procurement and Planner Specialist will support the customer’s Procurement and Planner requirements through the analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, activities.

How the Procurement and Planner Specialist will make an impact:

  • The IBD-SS liaison between all parties involved in the full life cycle of the procurement process to include but not limited to internal procurement personnel, all functions within the scope of the IBD-SS contract both CONUS and OCONUS.

  • Responsible for the procurement of products and goods for use by IBD-SS by identifying potential supplier based on program requirements, screening them, and negotiating favorable payment terms for the contract. Process purchase requests and Purchase orders to acquire goods.

  • Maintains communication with government client and management during course of procurement action to ensure timely delivery in compliance with the requirements of the government delivery schedule. Maintains government procurement database and is the main point of entry for all awarded documents and compliance.

  • Coordinates with Asset Management for all database entries and validation of product inventory. Coordinates with Logistics team for item replenishment from vendors, identify alternates, update listing of pre-approved vendors and items, and keeping track of diminished and obsolete material.

  • Coordinates the procurement of materials, products/services, and equipment necessary for the operation of the business unit or assigned projects. Ensures suppliers/vendors adherence to industry standards, technical quality standards, and other corporate/business unit driven expectations.

  • Assembles the complete procurement package for management review and submission to government client.

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials. Arrange for delivery, assembly or distribution of components and supplies to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules. Compile status reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, materials inventories, materials used, customer feedback and production issues.

  • Maintain files such as maintenance records, bills of lading, work orders, purchase requests and costs reports.

  • Revise production schedules when necessary due to design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions. Maintaining and adhering to the latest revision of the BOM and all other duties related to the scope of the Procurement and Planner Specialist

  • Profiency in Microsoft Suites highly desired

  • Other duties as required by the mission

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Two+ years of experience in purchasing or inventory management.

  • Experience working with procurement practices

  • Experience working with contracts including request for proposals (RFP) and request for information (RFI)

  • Experience working with products and services within related market

  • Documented Federal Government Agency procurement activity experience

  • BA/BS + 5-8 years relevant experience (12 years’ experience in lieu of a degree)     

  • Profiency in Microsoft Suites highly desired    

Security Clearance:

  • Secret Clearance Required, or ability to obtian a secret clearance six months from hire date

  • On Customer Site (Full Time, Huntsville, AL)

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $68,850 - $93,150. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
