Job Description

Scrum Master/Atlassian Admin

We are looking for curious, intelligent and motivated people with strong servant leadership skills who are interested in becoming part of an Agile team.  As a Scrum Master/Atlassian Admin, you will be a team-level change agent who facilitates and coaches’ Agile practices in a diverse and technically complex software development project within our portfolio. A practical understanding of Agile principles, frameworks, tools, and concepts will be key in successfully performing in this role. A administrator level knowledge of Jira and Confluence is also required.

HOW A SCRUM MASTER/ATLASSIAN ADMIN WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

In the Scrum Master role, typical responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and motivate a scrum team in all aspects of the committed work (analysis, development, testing, documentation, etc.).
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, such as planning, reviewing, retrospectives and daily stand-ups.
  • Enable team to become self-organizing and self-managing to achieve its goals
  • Act as a servant leader and aid with communication and resolution of team risks, dependencies, and team impediments.
  • Mentor team members in Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Assisting program in adopting lean/agile/DevSecOps practices from waterfall practices.
  • Maintain JIRA and other information radiators for the teams.
  • Utilize tools, such as JIRA and Confluence, to facilitate Agile ceremonies, including: iteration planning, backlog refinement, daily stand ups, sprint retrospectives, and status reporting.
  • Utilize tools and reports, such as JIRA and Confluence, to collect, develop and analyze Agile data and metrics.
  • Utilizes technical knowledge to recommend metrics, tools, and/or techniques for enhanced transparency and operational efficiency.
  • Identify differences in understanding issues as they occur; work with the team to problem-solve or escalate to management if needed.
  • Utilize data from retrospectives and other Agile metrics to coach and to recommend continuous improvements.
  • Ensure the team's "definition of done" is well defined on the story, sprint, and release levels.
  • Provides feedback and guidance to transformation leads/managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives.
  • Facilitate productivity through discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with internal and external communication and improving transparency.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised with an emphasis on problem solving.
  • Assess the Scrum maturity of the team and coach the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team.
  • Motivate teams to perform and ensure team members are collectively responsible for all aspects of the committed work (analysis, development, testing, documentation, etc.).
  • Coach a continuous improvement mindset and recommend adjustments to established delivery practices.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings to ensure cross-team collaboration and coordination of release plans and integration of testing and release activities.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including customers.
  • Act as a liaison between the scrum team and the Product Owner and stakeholders to break down the product roadmap Epics into Features and user stories and help to define acceptance criteria to enable the development and testing.
  • Assist in preparing weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports and deliverables.

In the Atlassian Administrator role, typical responsibilities will include:

  • Design, configure, and maintain sites, spaces, projects, workflows, and issue types within Jira/Confluence
  • Gather requirements and develop tailored dashboards for reporting, tracking, and service enhancement
  • Maintain and adhere to application administration best practices
  • Analyze, research, manage, and implement other integrated Atlassian tools, plug-ins, and applications
  • Facilitate/present Jira and Confluence user training
  • Track, consolidate, and update project(s)/task(s), across multiple teams, and provide status updates
  • Provide guidance on workflow optimization and overarching project/task management practices
  • Collaborate with systems engineers/administrators to implement platform changes and updates, and incorporate data transfers and automated workflows and API calls to/from Jira/Confluence
  • Design cube-based reports with EazyBI
  • Creating Automation Rules
  • Creating Roadmaps
  • Attention to detail and commitment to tracking progress and deliverables



WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Agile approaches, roles, practices, and deliverables
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or member of a software development team Agile certification such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Advanced Certified Scrum Master (A-CSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
  • Experience on Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience supporting IT projects
  • 5+ years of Administrator experience in Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with support tools, such as Microsoft Office, collaborative communication tools, such as Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with Excel, such as pivot tables and data review from Jira exports
  • Experience in delivering technical training and Agile coaching/mentoring
  • Experience with Scripting

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $133,119 - $180,102. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
