Collective Training Team Lead


XVIII ABC Hub and Spoke MTCs provide individual and collective training on Army Mission Command Systems, using a variety of tools and Army fielded systems. These systems are used to support Small Unit Training: Squads through Company, Medium Unit Training: Battalion through Brigade, and Large Unit Training: Divisions and Corps in training environments ranging from Stability and Support Operations (SSO) through Unified Land Operations (ULO).

HOW A COLLECTIVE TRAINING TEAM LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manage all administrative and training requirements for a 5-to-8-person Team.
  • Lead/support technical working groups that create/modify existing Training Support Packages (TSPs) for brigade and below collective training events.
  • Define and develop tailored training products that meet customers requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise during the site’s Concept Development, Initial, Mid, and Final Planning Conferences.
  • Develop cross-functional trainers that provide the ability and depth to conduct simultaneous high quality training events.
  • Assign daily tasks to Team members that support current and future operations.
  • Establish and maintain efficient processes to schedule personnel, plan, and coordinate support requirements.
  • Prepare training areas to execute individual and collective training events.
  • Perform the duties of an exercise shift lead that manages the execution of exercise support requirements during an 8-to-12-hour shift.
  • Perform as a member of the Higher Command (HICOM) response cell during exercise execution answering formal Requests For Information (RFI) from training units.
  • Maintain familiarization with all Command-and-Control Information Systems (C2IS), simulations, stimulations, and gaming systems. 
  • Lead/support the development and execution of the site’s internal After-Action Review (AAR) program.
  • Continually assess, innovate, and improve our services to our customers and fully support a comprehensive Quality Control Program (QCP) and Professional Development and Certification Program (PDCP).
  • Responsible for tracking and submitting reports for Team’s contractual requirements.
  • Work and assign/monitor Team tasks remotely when directed due to site closure and/or inclement weather.
  • Work is predominantly intellectual in character and requires the employee to consistently exercise discretion and judgment.
  • Perform limited manual and non-manual work directly related to the general business operations of the Fort Stewart MTC.
  • Participates in special projects and perform other duties as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree, subject immaterial, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in the military. Experience should include serving on a battalion or above staff, serving as an Observer Controller/Trainer (OC/T), and leading/managing personnel.  If no bachelor’s degree, must have 12 years’ military experience.
  • Security Clearance: Secret clearance required.
  • Required Technical Skills:
    • Completion of an Army C2IS operator course.
    • Understanding of how C2IS systems publish and subscribe to share information.
    • General understanding of the Army simulation and stimulation systems.
    • Familiarity with exercise design and developing Training Support Packages (TSP).
  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Lead a team of trainers to create high fidelity, realistic training events in a live, virtual, and constructive environment to meet customer requirements.
    • Flexible and adaptable to react to changing requirements and emergent challenges in a fast-paced and high-pressure training environment.
    • Identify team strengths; effectively delegate and manage/supervise tasks.
    • Crosstrain team to ensure depth and redundancy to cover gaps/shortfalls.
    • Develop, supervise, and track internal training opportunities for team members.
    • Strong problem-solving and time management skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft products to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Teams; technologically proficient.
    • Duties require exercising discretion, independent judgment, and decision-making.
    • Participates in and performs additional duties, special projects, emerging responsibilities as required/directed.
    • Physical labor tasks require the ability to lift/carry 50 pounds and climb ladders to a height of 6 to 12 feet to configure network/power cabling.
  • Location: Fort Stewart MTC. Normal work schedule is 0730-1600, may require night, swing or weekend work shifts depending on specific training event requirements.
  • Travel: May require occasional travel (less than 10%)

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $63,750 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
