Job Description

GDIT is seeking an Electronics Engineer Journeyman to support the Automated Installation Entry system in the Ft Carson, CO. area. This position will require some travel to other locations as needed. Must have a current and active Secret clearance.

How the Electronics Engineer will make an impact:

·        Maintains smooth operation of local area, worldwide, and virtual private networks (VPN).

·        Plans, evaluates, designs, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.

·        Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, Cisco switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, Windows servers 2008 / 2012. WIN 7, WIN 10 OS, SQL and REDHAT etc.

·        May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.

·        Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.

·        Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.

·        May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment. May design network or portion of network that includes selection and recommendation of hardware and software packages.

What you'll need to be successful:

·        Must have a Secret clearance or higher

·        Network analysis experience - 3 years of experience - HS diploma & 6 years or BS and 2, will consider other combinations of work experience & education.

·        IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent certification)

·        Must be able read and understand schematics and designs.  

·        Knowledge of low voltage hardware desired.

·        Experience with using Hand and Power Tools desired

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $69,722 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
