Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated engineers with a thirst for learning, in support a geographically dispersed, state of the art systems that seamlessly integrate Linux and Microsoft services. Candidates with proven depth creating solutions with Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems will be positioned for success in our organization.

The selected candidate will design, build and deploy, and administer large scale multi-domain enterprise Windows environments. Additionally the engineer will build, maintain and Windows desktops on both thick client hardware and within a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure leveraged by thin client hardware. The engineer will provide support to multiple globally dispersed WAN connected sites. Engineers will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support. Project assignments will vary based on skill level, and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and defines system architecture for Windows desktop solutions and client based applications
  • Supports the integration of the Windows desktop with a variety of enterprise services
  • Evaluates desktop software and hardware technologies and determines the most efficient method to leverage the technology within the customer’s network environment
  • Administer, operate, manage and maintain components for Windows desktop deployments to thick clients and VDI
  • Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients
  • Plans and directs upgrades of Windows desktop operating system version and supporting infrastructure and related components

Required Skills:

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar for IAT Level II DoD 8570 certification
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop design engineering and implementation options.
  • Experience with Microsoft deployment methodology options to include Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and System Center Configuration Manager.
  • Experience with engineering client software installation packages for deployment to Windows desktops and/or inclusion into VDI master disk images
  • Experience Citrix VDI technology
  • Experience with maintaining Windows desktop systems for mobile users on laptop hardware to include use of BitLocker
  • Experience with anti-virus and malware product integration within a Windows desktop configuration, specific McAfee experience is desired
  • Experience with Group Policy Management
  • Experience with Windows DNS and DHCP
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016 and 2019
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows automation scripting with PowerShell or other scripting languages
  • Experience building/managing servers in the AWS (Amazon Web Services) environment is desired
  • Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
  • System configuration based on security guidelines such as DISA STIGs

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $144,500 - $195,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
