Job Description

GDIT is searching for Technical Writer to join our growing team. You will support an exciting new program focused on identifying vulnerabilities in Medicaid, Medicare and the Marketplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop content to appropriately document vulnerabilities in the assigned program area (Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Marketplace.  The content will be developed based up research, analysis, and vulnerabilities identified across programs under CMS's control.  

  • Work collaboratively within a team of Medicare, Medicaid and/or Marketplace policy expert SMEs and analysts.

  • Synthesize complex policy and regulatory guidance to develop recommendations, both written and verbal, to present to senior leadership.

  • Within a case management system, comprehensively document in detail identified vulnerabilities.

  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension.

  • Generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.

  • Meet with subject-matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.

  • Review and/or copy edit content developed by other members of the team.

  • Reviews and edits complex material for punctuation, grammar, and content.

  • Identifies and modifies complex contextual errors, reorganizes content, and edits graphics, tables, and illustrations.

  • Provides advice for the development for the process of crafting and refining ideas, cultivating sources, and developing highly complex and articulate articles.

  • Collaborates closely with technical teams to deliver appropriate and highly complex content.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of Medicare, Medicaid and/or Marketplace experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) (Medicaid experience preferred for this position)

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, particularly creating content for non-technical users.

  • Proficient in computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Office-Word, Excel

Desired Skills:

  • Highly organized, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Strong inter-personal and communications skills, both written and oral

  • Ability to work independently (this job is remote)

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
