Join GDIT as an Azure Configuration Manager to oversee the deployment, governance, and configuration of Azure cloud resources in a FedRAMP-compliant healthcare environment. You will lead platform engineering teams to implement secure, standardized, and automated Azure infrastructure for mission-critical healthcare applications and data systems.


This role ensures cloud resources are secure, compliant, and optimized while supporting modernization initiatives and infrastructure-as-code practices.

This role is fully remote!

This role has a targeted start date towards the end of 2025/early 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Azure configuration governance across subscriptions, resource groups, and environments.
  • Define and enforce Azure Policy, Management Groups, Blueprints, RBAC, and naming/tagging standards.
  • Oversee Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployment and automation using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Architects, Security Engineers, and DevOps teams to ensure compliance with FedRAMP, HIPAA, and FISMA.
  • Monitor configuration drift, remediate inconsistencies, and implement automated remediation where possible.
  • Integrate Microsoft Sentinel and Defender for Cloud/Endpoint for continuous monitoring and threat detection.
  • Maintain documentation for configuration standards, deployment processes, and operational procedures.
  • Lead and mentor configuration engineers, ensuring consistent implementation of governance and security policies.
  • Support ATO packages by providing technical evidence, configuration documentation, and audit readiness for federal healthcare systems.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Azure cloud engineering or administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure Policy, Management Groups, Resource Locks, Blueprints, and RBAC
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates) and DevOps automation
  • Experience in FedRAMP, HIPAA, and FISMA compliance frameworks
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, Defender for Endpoint, and monitoring/alerting best practices
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate, or Azure Administrator Associate
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP
  • Experience leading mission-critical healthcare or federal cloud programs
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and Azure AD/Entra identity governance
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration monitoring for large enterprise Azure environments
  • Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and documentation skills

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $99,450 - $134,550. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
