Job Description

Be a part of the men and women that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges! General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an Enterprise Data Center Area Network (DAN) Engineer Senior to support the DTRA I3TS program at Ft. Belvoir, VA.

This program provides enterprise-wide IT support to enable the customer to consolidate, modernize, and continuously innovate the delivery of IT services and mission capabilities. These services will deliver exceptional execution value to internal and external mission partners operating in CONUS and OCONUS locations.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide network design and buildout services workstations, servers, and infrastructure to ensure that operability requirements are up to date
  • Provide Network design and buildout services for current and emerging technologies
  • Assist with development of high-level Network design and architecture to support a global network.
  • Provide expert level knowledge and skills in design and implementation of Software Defined Network (SDN) including SD-WAN, SD-LAN, SD-DAN
  • Develop and maintain enterprise Network architecture and infrastructure including installation, test, upgrades, and other required maintenance
  • Expert level knowledge of design, implementation, and support of CONUS and OCONUS networks including circuits and transport protocols such as MPLS, DWDM, etc
  • Experience in support of switched and routed network including OSPF and BGP routing protocols
  • Knowledge of network security devices including IDS/IPS, Firewalls, network Proxys, etc
  • Participates in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree: additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5 - 8 years of directly related experience in network engineering, administration and support.
  • Proficient in Firewall installation, configuration, and maintenance, to include Proficient in ACL creation and editing on a multi-domain multi-site infrastructure
  • Experience with data networks, VOIP, network design, and SDN
  • Must have an Active DOD TS/SCI

Desired Qualifications: Security+, Network+, CCNA, CCNP

LOCATION: Working at GDIT work location and you will be driving to Fort Belvoir, VA to attend meetings.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $159,270 - $215,484. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
