Job Description

GDIT's Employee Relations Team has an opening for an Employee Relations Partner.  In this role, you will be a key contributor to a world-class center of excellence team within our Human Resources division.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Provides guidance, support and counsel to employees at all levels within the organization on defined employee relations issues, escalating as appropriate
  • Supports workforce reduction planning
  • Prepares WARN analysis
  • Conducts investigations of staff reductions resulting in layoff, client removals, and employee complaints and disputes, documents findings and recommends disciplinary action and/or appropriate resolution
  • Effectively partner with other departments during investigations to include legal, HR, accommodations, payroll and benefits
  • Assists managers in preparing for employee conversations, the preparation of notifications and corrective actions documents, and prepares and coordinates off-boarding paperwork and related activities for involuntary separations
  • Collaborates with HR leadership to facilitate activities to positively enhance the GDIT employee experience, and contribute to proactively addressing ER issues before they occur
  • Assists with basic internal audits of employee relations issues such as employee turnover, hiring, transfer and promotion practices, and selections for layoff to identify trends or situations that may require training, counseling, or other action
  • Provides detailed case documentation and employee profile information to Corporate Legal and/or outside counsel, and participates in deposition proceedings as directed

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2+ years of related HR experience; OR in lieu of degree, 6 years of related experience required
  • Workforce reduction planning experience
  • Experience in the area of conducting workplace investigations
  • HR experience in a federal contracting environment  
  • Skilled in basic HR and employment law principles
  • Experience with conducting interviews that result in critical fact gathering
  • Experience interacting with all levels of employees on employee relations issues
  • Experience consulting on multiple employee relations issues that vary in scope and complexity
  • Ability to manage a high volume of employee relations cases
  • Highly refined written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality regarding employee information
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and virtual tools such as Zoom/Skype/MSTeams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish 
  • OCONUS / expatriate work experience preferred

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $62,050 - $83,950. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
