Job Description

Seize your opportunity to make a personal impact as a OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST supporting a national security program for our prestigious client at the highest levels of the government in the heart of our nation’s capital. As a Operations Support Specialist, you are critical of the organization’s mission success. You will ensure that ongoing and emerging operational programs and exercise goals are designed and met and that operational constraints are considered in deliberate and crisis action planning. This includes synchronizing current operations with future operations and plans; maintaining situational awareness in the operations center as a watch stander; coordinating supporting actions with clients both internal and external to the staff and keeping the Lead Program Analyst informed in a timely and coordinated manner. HOW A OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

·      Supporting the preparation and maintenance of contingency operation and emergency action plans.

·      Developing draft exercise plans that will test new concepts and approaches and will support general mission readiness, mission-essential operational and leadership training.

·      Conducting assessments and evaluations of key existing and new mission-essential processes and procedures.

·      Performing watch officer tasks that include answering phones and radios, observing cameras, TVs and other monitoring devices to provide timely information in support of the organization.

·      Proving draft reports for events and other matters that relate to events, incidents, and other activities within the organization.

·      Facilitating communications and automated equipment technologies in an operations center.

·      Preparing for training, testing, and exercise opportunities, both pre-planned and with no-notice.

·      Assessing and evaluating tests and exercises, providing recommendations and plans for evolving and shaping further development of capabilities to meet integrated mission requirements through an active lessons learned process.

·      Demonstrating proficiency with all operation center systems and preparing plans, training and materials supporting mission execution.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

·      Required Experience: BA/BS and 3+ years of experience working on projects focused on strategic/operational plan development with an emphasis on intergovernmental/interagency deliberate planning; rapid response planning, exercise planning, emergency management planning, operations center operations and maintenance and lessons-learned development and archiving

·      Required Technical Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

·      Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility

·      Required Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational and time management skills

·      Preferred Skills: Experience working in an operations center environment; may be required to carry weight in excess of 25 lbs

·      Location: On Customer Site, Arlington, VA

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $76,500 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
