We are seeking a seasoned Senior SAP HANA BASIS Database Administrator with 5+ years of experience in SAP HANA database systems, SAP BW, SAP business planning and consolidation, and SAP BASIS administration.

HOW A SR SAP HANA BASIS DBA WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Lead the planning, installation, configuration, and upgrade of SAP HANA database systems across various environments such as development, testing, and production.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for SAP HANA databases, aligning BASIS and database requirements.

  • Monitor and ensure the health, performance, and security of SAP HANA databases by diagnosing and resolving technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems, while optimizing BASIS configurations.

  • Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity and availability, including routine backups, restoration tests, and disaster recovery drills, while coordinating with BASIS for system recoveries.

  • Maintain and enhance database security by implementing access controls, encryption, and compliance with industry regulations and organizational policies, in alignment with SAP BASIS security practices.

  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and performance tuning, to optimize the performance of SAP HANA databases.

  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including installation procedures, configuration guides, and operational runbooks, while incorporating BASIS-specific guidelines.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts during critical incidents, providing timely resolutions and root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences, collaborating closely with SAP BASIS teams.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior SAP HANA BASIS DBAs and other team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.

  • Stay current with the latest SAP HANA releases, updates, and industry best practices, evaluating their impact on our database infrastructure and BASIS operations.

  • Collaborate with SAP functional and BASIS teams to ensure seamless integration of database systems with SAP applications and services, aligning all aspects of SAP landscape management.

  • Apply SAP BW and SAP BPC expertise to enhance the performance and reliability of our data warehousing and planning applications.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • 5+ years of hands on experience as SAP HANA database administrator

  • Experience in SAP BASIS administration, including SAP system installations, upgrades, patches, and transports.

  • Experience in supporting SAP BW and SAP BPC.

  • Experience in SAP landscape design, system configuration, and integration with SAP applications.

  • Experience with SAP user and role management, transport management, and client administration.

  • Proficient in SAP performance tuning, system monitoring, and proactive maintenance activities

  • Experience with SAP security concepts, including user provisioning, authorization concepts, and SAP security notes application.

  • Experience with SAP Solution Manager for system monitoring, maintenance, and incident management.

  • Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., SAP scripts, Python, Bash, etc.) for BASIS and database tasks.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust MBI Clearance.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $92,089 - $124,591. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
