Job Description

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. Our work depends on a Systems Architect joining our team to focus on long term software modernization and development of new functional enhancements, increasing the capabilities of Traffic Flow Management (TFM).  

HOW A SYSTEMS ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Interface with design and implementation engineers to resolve problems in accordance with the fundamental design concepts, and user needs and constraints
  • Advise on selection of technology, protocols, procedures and tools to meet the mission needs
  • Develop system architectures and perform technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis of systems
  • Develop scenarios (threads) and an Operational Concept that describes the interactions between the system, the user, and the environment, that satisfies operational, support, maintenance, and
  • Conducts design tradeoff analysis and develops strategies for system development and modification
  • Review and/or approve system engineering documentation to ensure that processes and specifications meet system needs and are accurate, comprehensive, and complete
  • Conduct quantitative analysis in non-functional system performance areas like Reliability, Maintainability, Vulnerability, Survivability, Producibility, etc.)
  • Capture all interface designs in a common interface control format, and store interface data in a commonly accessible repository
  • Assess risks to the program and determine the probability of occurrence and quantified consequence of failure
  • Provide technical analysis/trade-off analysis for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of specific components of complex hardware/software systems

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics or science

Required Experience:

  • Fifteen years (15) years’ experience

Security Clearance Level:

  • Must be clearable for a position of Public Trust and standard background investigation check
  • US Residency Requirement

Required Technical Skills:

  • Experience analyzing complex business processes, rules and constraints
  • Experience developing and recommending viable approaches to efficiently meet requirements
  • Significant experience with large-scale data architecture, data modeling, database design, and data systems implementation
  • Experience with load balancing, distributed computing, and cloud architectures
  • Solid understanding of network and system development and deployment
  • Extensive experience with performing engineering and/or scientific research, studies, and analyses of specified technological, scientific, programmatic and operational issues

  • Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively
  • Demonstrate strength in solving complex problems

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $176,446 - $212,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
