Job Description

At GDIT you’ll be a meaningful part of improving how GDIT supports federal agencies in achieving their mission. Our continued success on the HOM Program depends on a Senior Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) Database Administrator (DBA) joining our team to support our existing DBA team members in performing at the highest levels for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).  

The primary application that GDIT supports on the HOM Program is the Healthcare Integrated General Ledger Accounting System (HIGLAS) which is a very large complex system with approximately 3,000 total users, processing an average of 4.5 million transactional claim records per day which equates to over 1.2 billion annually. There are an average of 46,000 new account receivables and 168,000 payments processed per day along with 20,000 queries/reports run daily. Utilizing Oracle Federal Financials as the base application of HIGLAS, it provides CMS with a uniform financial management system to account for over $1 Trillion in outlays for healthcare each year across multiple lines of business.

In this role you will:

  • Support our mission critical production environments including our validation, test, and development environments.

  • Support mission critical production systems, to include being available as needed for off-hour deployments over nights and weekends; or to support on-call team members. 

  • Support an Oracle EBS 12.2.x Database 19c RAC and Data Guard Databases along with other applications and databases

  • Automate routine DBA tasks using Python, shell scripts

  • Triage issues and provide root cause analysis

  • Provide solutions to improve system performance tuning/optimization.

  • Support capacity planning and forecasting

  • Proactively monitor and quickly address identified application or system issues

  • Clone, patch and upgrade the Oracle DB & eBusiness Suite (EBS)/HIGLAS

  • Backup and restore the database and applications

  • Maintain and support the synchronization of our production and disaster recovery (DR) environments

  • Support migrations of data and code to various environments

What you’ll need:

  • BS/BA in Information Technology or related technical discipline

  • 8+ years’ experience supporting Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) applications and environments (installation, configuration, upgrade, patching). Preferably R12.2.x environment with Database 19c.

  • Strong backup and recovery skills and experience using RMAN

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, performance testing and optimization

  • Experience with OBIEE, SOA, Oracle IDM/SSO, GRC installations, configuration, patching and production support

  • Experience in designing, developing, and testing updates and new enhancements within RDBMS and Oracle DB concepts.

  • Capacity planning and High Availability (HA) configuration with DR setup and configuration experience

  • Requires ability to pass CMS background check and meet the residency requirement for having resided in the US at least (3) three out of the last (5) five years in order to obtain a Public Trust.​

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in archive and purge solutions for EBS R12.2

  • Experience in DevOps / DevSecOps

  • Good hands-on experience in Oracle Enterprise Manager configuration and support

  • Hands on experience with Ansible, Shell or Perl Script, GIT

  • Knowledge and expertise in Shell, Perl scripting and/or Python coding

  • Knowledge of Exadata engineered systems

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $122,366 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
