HOW A SR. HYBRID CLOUD PLATFORM ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Job Description Summary:

Work on a development team, utilizing Agile scrum methodology, which is responsible for developing and maintain agency wide Platform as a Service (PaaS) capability deployed across multiple security domains.  The PaaS environment supports multiple tenants deploying a myriad application stacks and data services.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure and maintain OpenShift clusters across multiple security domains in both Cloud and datacenter (vSphere) environments
  • Ensure stability, performance, and security in the OpenShift environments
  • Support developers and IT teams to efficiently deploy applications
  • Support OpenShift frameworks and tools such as Crossplane, Kyverno, RedHat GitOps, Red Hat ACS, Red Hat ACM
  • Work with development teams to understand integration requirements and scale existing platforms to meet them
  • Work with Security to ensure ongoing compliance and develop secure solutions
  • Support data services including RabbitMQ, Redis, PostgreSQL, Elastic Stack
  • Document procedures and provide training to team members

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education/Experience:  

•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline.

•7+ years IT experience (minimum 3 years supporting platform environments)

•Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following:  Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA

Required Skills:

•Experience deploying and managing RedHat OpenShift in a cloud and/or vSphere environment

• Python, Shell scripting, Git (desired)

•Linux distributions: RHEL/RHCOS, Rocky, CentOS

•CI/CD orchestration tools: GitLab CI, Red Hat GitOps/ArgoCD

•Container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud Native Computing Foundation ecosystem in general

•Experience with Amazon Web Services

Desired Certifications:

•Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
