Field Technician IV

HOW A FIELD TECHNICIAN IV WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Performs systems’ software installation, configuration, and maintenance of CECOM C5ISR Families of Systems.
  • Initializing, placing into operation, and troubleshooting software interfaces of specific C5ISR communication systems being supported.
  •  C5ISR system training;
  • Assist new users with managing system requirements to include data management, data recovery, and techniques to operate/maintain records; provide over-the-shoulder tech assist or training, troubleshooting, software installation, software updates, and software fixes and be capable of being able to provide other required support.  
  • Performs systems’ software installation, configuration, and maintenance of CECOM C5ISR Families of Systems.
  •  Responsible for backup and disaster recovery of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Assists Information Assurance staff with all documentation required for accreditation and any other associated directives and regulations. Participates in special projects as required.  


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in DCGS-A support is preferred. B.A./B.S. 4 years of additional work experience may be substituted for a B.A./B.S. Degree with an A.A./A.S. degree. Two years of additional work experience may be substituted for a B.A./B.S. Degree.
  • Security + certification prior to start date.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows/Linux/VMWare server and client software, patching, upgrading, and maintenance experience.
  • VMWare, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Windows Server 2012-2019
  •  Military experience is desirable.
  • Location: On Customer Site
  • Military experience is desirable.
  • Primarily supports software family of systems - Tactical Intelligence Family of Systems: GWS, IFS, P-MFWS, TGS, Prophet Spiral I, and CDSS.  
  • The primary system supported is Distributed Common Ground Station-Army (DCGS-A) Family of Systems. Must meet DoD 8570 requirements.
  • Knowledge of client and server software interaction including web-based application design, support, and integration. Able to perform software, hardware, and network troubleshooting and problem identification and resolution.  
  • Has experience with remote system administration software.
  •  Understanding of networking principles and system network configuration.  Must be capable of performing analyses of system operations.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $32.02 - $38.70. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
