Network Administrator Senior – TS/SCI required

HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the company’s local area network. 
  • Studies contractor products to determine those which best meet company needs; assists in presentation of information to management resulting in purchase and installation of hardware, software, and telecommunication equipment. 
  • Manages network performance and maintains network security. 
  • Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced. 
  • Installs all network software.
  • Evaluates, develops and maintains telecommunications systems. 
  • Troubleshoots network problem Establishes and implements network policies, procedures and standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and company’s objectives. 
  • Trains users on network operation.
  • Performs administration duties for networking hardware including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls and other related network hardware
  • Must have firm grasp and knowledge of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities and cabling and their connectivity to local and wide area networks
  • Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
  • Provides installation and operational support of voice and data communications hardware and software systems. 
  • Designs, develops, implements, tests, debugs, and maintains communications systems. 
  • Performs configuration of operating system and security patches for host and distributed systems and implements incident response procedures during incidents of a network or host security breach. 
  • May provide leadership and direction to a team of specialists for these functions. 
  • Reviews customer requirements and makes recommendations for changes to existing technical architecture. 
  • Complies with prescribed customer, industry and agency standards.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience
  • Preferred Skillset/Experience:
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support
    • Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software
    • Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications
  • Clearance Level: TS/SCI
  • Required Certification(s):
    • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contract
    • IAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalent
    • Computing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security
  • Location: On Customer Site
  • Additional:
    • Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contract
    • Position may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activity
    • Travel may be required to support the mission

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $80,750 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
