Job Description

General Dynamics Global Force (GDGF) is looking to solve United States Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) most complex challenges through the pursuit of the future Special Operations Forces Global Logistics Support Services (SOF GLSS) contract. SOF GLSS is the primary means of acquiring, designing, manufacturing and distributing SOF-peculiar equipment, globally. SOF GLSS is currently a large, enterprise contract primarily based out of Bluegrass Station in Lexington, Kentucky.

The SOF Systems Lead manages and directs all aspects of the program’s SOF programs in Fayetteville, NC.

HOW A SOF SYSTEMS LEAD WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Fayetteville Site Leader responsible for leading all aspects of site management which includes 350+ employees across multiple programs in a leased facility with unclassified and classified office spaces
  • SOF logistical matters; supply, maintenance, transportation, and services in support of global, expeditionary, and reach-back support to worldwide missions
  • Develop Capital investment plans aligned with overall growth strategy and manage execution to ensure on time, within budget completion of projects
  • Proactively manage program and synchronize the efforts of multiple support functions to maintain and improve enterprise level efficiency and effectiveness
  • Communicate program status, progress, and issues to both GDGF and customer stakeholders; negotiate program changes and adjustments as needed
  • Interface regularly with PEO SOFSA Senior Leadership located at Lexington Kentucky and other senior leaders at Fort Liberty; program managers, technical leads, and acquisition officials
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Engage in cross-business area collaboration to deliver solutions to the SOF Operator


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Masters degree
  • Required Experience: 10+ years of experience leading SOF logistics programs (theater and national SOF mission forces), including elements of logistics, supply chain, complex design and manufacturing of DoD materiel and IT services. 15+ years of SOF operational, logistics and program management experience in the Joint and Army Special Operations organizations. Experience managing an organization of 100+ direct reporting personnel. Experience leading within a global staff of 500+ full-time employees including subcontractors and vendors. Standard, non-standard and expeditionary logistics experience.
  • Security Clearance Level: An active Top Secret DoD Clearance. Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.
  • Required Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills. Experience managing and motivating multi-functional, geographically dispersed teams. Experience coordinating limited resources across multiple projects. Excellent communication skills, including with technical AND non-technical individuals. Excellent critical thinking judgement and decision-making skills. Excellent client-facing communication skills. Experience managing government contracts.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Preferred Skills: 10 years of experience managing programs or projects in a DoD environment. 10 years of experience with the Federal procurement process. 10 years of experience with the administration of various contract types, including cost-type and firm-fixed-price.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $119,000 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
