Job Description

Software Engineer Sr Advisor

Our mature 100% remote agile development team is looking for a Senior level Full-Stack Software Engineer to help us continue to deliver a top-quality custom web application for our Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) customers. Interested candidates should also have technical and people management experience and be interested in taking on project management responsibilities for a portion of their time.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will research, design, develop, test, and modify application software. You'll work with other developers and business analysts to analyze user/business software system requirements and determine needs. You'll assist with the functionality of an application and perform upgrades over time. You'll contribute to documentation to support software development policies, standards and procedures. You will be a team leader, coach and take on increasing management responsibilities over time. You will work closely with the Technical Lead, Scrum Master and agile team members to enhance, modernize, and maintain a custom web application.

The following experience is STRONGLY DESIRED:

  • Experience managing team members

  • Experience leading and managing a software project

  • Proficiency developing a RESTful API

  • Proficiency with Spring Framework

  • Proficiency with Java / JVM languages

  • Experience developing Single Page Application

  • Proficiency with Javascript

  • Proficiency with relational database design

  • Proficiency writing SQL

  • Proficiency writing tests

  • Experience working in an Agile environment

  • Experience working in and deploying software to an AWS environment


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
● Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience
● Technical Skills Preferred:

  • Proficiency with Groovy Experience with Backbone

  • Experience with JQuery / Underscore

  • Experience with MySQL

  • Proficiency with Liquibase

  • Proficiency with Hibernate / JPQL

  • Experience integrating remote systems

  • Remote work experience

  • Understanding and implementing web accessibility standards

● Location: Remote; maintain Eastern Time hours
●US Citizenship Required - Must be able to obtain a US EPA Tier 4 Public Trust

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
