Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Supply Chain Technician to help support our MCSIL program.

A Supply Chain Technician is needed to join our growing MCSIL program in Point Mugu, California. You will collaborate with procurement, supply chain and production floor engineers to support tracking and flow of components for production builds. Your duties will include updating and managing the program’s knowledge base regularly.

This position requires the person to work at the customer site in Point Mugu Naval Air Station, CA

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Job Duties require Knowledge and Experience with typical software and databases used in procurement, supply chain management, and inventory such as:

    • Load tickets from Procurement Board

    • Upload copy to Confluence

    • Update line items upon receipt

  • JIRA

    • Procurement Board (comments, workflow)

    • Production Kitting Board (comments, workflow, shortage maintenance)

    • Team 5 Board (comments, workflow)

  • Maintain Inventory Database

  • Maintain Production Build Books

    • Update parts kitted as issued in database

    • Check/input date issued

    • Flag shortages after updating

    • Highlight Table of Contents page as kits issued

    • Manage shortages filled/ kits ready for pickup (Weekly meeting with Prod. PO)

    • Write up Processes/Procedures: Create flow chart and detailed instruction list, Format to JEACO CM’s official documentation

    • Updates/revisions

  • Preparations (responsible for)

    • Meetings w/ Production PO to review kits status and priority

    • Deployment Readines meetings as POC for ALL classified shipments including but limited to: Print inventory/documentation from Confluence, Create labels (inside/outside), Arranging shipment thru FED EX and/or NAVAIR shipping

    • PI Planning: Kits for upcoming PI, tickets, shipping requirements

  • Fleet support

    • Assist with kitting and tracking Field Service equipment

    • Correspond with IT for Laptop/Tablet imaging

    • Ensure all classified items are correctly labelled and secured

  • Shipping

    • Create Unclassified and Classified transmittals

    • Obtain chop chain and approval signatures

    • Package items securely in containers and determine weights/dimensions

    • Determine shipping method and schedule shipment

    • Attach labels and schedule shipment pickup w/ freight carrier

    • For classified shipments, create DD1149 forms and Weights & Measurements doc

    • Correspond with base shipping department for large freight shipments

    • Track and verify shipments arrive to correct contact

    • Update recordsa

  • Receiving (Assist Receiving with)

    • Receive packages and verify material against Purchase Request (PR)

    • Identify components that require acceptance testing

    • Stock/distribute items to appropriate projects/POCs

    • Obtain government signature on receipts and send to for closeout

  • Inventory Functions

    • Fulfill requests of material for production techs and testing

    • Ensure parts returned for MRB have documentation (NCR)

Qualifications:

  • Must be US Citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Current Secret Clearance preferred

  • High School

  • 3+ years experience

  • Proficiency in word processor programs such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and PDF software such as Adobe Acrobat 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $25.50 - $34.50. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
