Telecommunications Analyst Senior

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Field Engineer you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on a Field Engineer joining our team to help main the critical customer systems that allow them to accomplish their mission.

HOW A FIELD ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Analyzes, administers, and maintains telecommunications systems. Performs complex diagnosis, repairs, and modifications to ground data/voice communications equipment. Performs repair of communications equipment and systems. Typical duties include complex repairs, upgrades, and modifications to communication equipment, coordination of equipment evacuation for repair with other maintenance activities, requisitioning of parts, and monitoring maintenance reports. Provides technical assistance during the employment and installation of communication systems.   Monitors, evaluates, troubleshoots, and operates hardware, software, and other SATCOM and transport related problems. Includes both military and commercially available equipment in the performance of these duties. Provides technical expertise for performance and/or configuration of SCPC and IP-over-SATCOM networks to include FDMA and TDMA technologies. Coordinates with all responsible stakeholders and sites to resolve maintenance issues. Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and evaluating the customer's SATCOM network. Provides training on SATCOM system integration and operation as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:


Education: Associates Degree in related technical discipline or equivalent experience


Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience


Required Technical Skills:

  • Requires a basic working knowledge of SATCOM and terrestrial transport delivery systems and technologies
  • Must be able to analyze network performance, conduct statistical tests and create solutions to network and systems problems
  • Must closely follow network protocols and methodology in assessments​
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams

Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI (Required)

Preferred Skills:

  • Able to work Independently with little to no supervision
  • Competent to work at a technical level on all phases of systems administration activities
  • Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
  • Anticipates questions and is prepared with answers
  • Must be a consummate professional in both demeanor and attire
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
  • ITIL Foundation certification preferred

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $66,300 - $89,700. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
