At GDIT, people are our differentiator. Our work depends on a Watch Stander to support Commander Navy Installations Command (CNIC) in Norfolk, VA. CNIC enables and sustains naval forces from the Shore by designing, developing and delivering integrated shore capabilities to the Fleet, Fighter and Family.
**This position is contingent upon position funding**
You will be a member of the system administration team for a major DOD enterprise network and perform duties as a Watch Stander for the Service Delivery Point.
Assigned to work 12-hour watch shifts rotating a 4 day on/off, 3 day on/off schedule including one weekend day for 80.5 hours per 2-week pay period. Watch shifts are day, night, or fill-in (regular 40 hours except when to fill in one of the other shifts). Watch team members are assigned initial shifts and rotate every 3 months.
HOW OUR WATCH STANDER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Create and update IssueTrak (ticketing system) tickets
IssueTrak Queue Management Overall (includes triage and assignment to correct teams)
Daily Server Farm Walkthrough – monitoring of the physical environment
Complete items on Watch checklist
Daily operation / turnover report
Account management
Managing / troubleshooting servers running on one or more operating systems.
Patch management (OS / Windows / Linux / Active Directory)
Scap/STIG assignments as scheduled (OS / IE / .NET / Office Suite / Adobe / (Core OS) / Linux)
Monitor Intrusion detection results
Analyze ACAS results
Patching
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED (Required):
Security Clearance Level: Active Top Secret clearance (a Secret with a T5 is acceptable)
Required Experience: 6 years of directly related experience in Systems Administration (or 4 years of experience with a Bachelors Degree)
Required Certifications: Current DoD 8570.01 IAT level 1 certification (Security+ CE)
Education: BS degree in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science.
Required Technical Skills: SCAP/STIG, Engineering, Systems Analysis, DoD and DoN IT Systems, Information Assurance, Web Development, or Engineering Management. Data Center administration, Business IT Systems development, Gateway 2.0 (G2) / SharePoint, or Command, Control, Communications & Protection (C3P) Ashore systems.

The likely salary range for this position is $91,034 - $123,164. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
