Job Description
GDIT's Military Heath team is hiring a medical Research Associate to support the Naval Hospital Guam. The facility is comprised of the main hospital in Agana Heights, and two branch clinics, medical and dental, on Naval Base Guam.The hospital offers a broad range of medical services that include family practice, OB-GYN, pediatrics, general surgery, anesthesia, internal medicine, psychiatry, psychology, occupational health and preventive medicine, emergency medicine, dental surgery, urology, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, optometry, acute care, physical therapy, Dietician, Health Promotions and social work services.HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
  • Assist with maintaining an ongoing Quality Assurance (QA)/Quality Control (QC) program that meets accreditation standards (such as CAP- College of American Pathologists) and improves the safety and quality of the laboratory.
  • Assist with maintaining Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) standards during performance of laboratory testing in accordance with GLP Regulations – 21 CFR Part 58 (FDA).
  • Provide operational support, to include analytical evaluations and prospective clinical evaluations, for diagnostic evaluations, clinical studies, and/or clinical trials sponsored by Federal Agencies or private companies, subject to final GS or military approval.
  • Support surveillance of operational infectious diseases that affect DoD personnel in coordination with federal agencies, local governments, research organizations, and universities at locations around the world.
  • Support logistic and administrative tasks as needed to ensure that the department can successfully meet its mission, subject to final GS or military approval.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • Education: Bachelors degree
  • Required Experience: 2+ years of experience  within research, analysis, development, and evaluation of systems, procedures, and data
  • Experience collecting, testing, analyzing and archiving specimens for surveillance programs
  • Experience with surveillance of operational infectious diseases
  • US Citizenship Required: Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a favorable secret clearance

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $44,625 - $60,375. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
