Job Description

The Lead Architect is responsible for overseeing and managing all IT Services and End User infrastructure engineering projects, initiatives and teams to ensure seamless integration of activities through the engineering pipeline, covering network, storage, compute, end user services, and service desk modernization and enhancements. The Solutions Engineering Lead shall developing and optimizing product/packaging solutions, automations, and processes to help the organization become more agile, effective and efficient.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Lead a team of architects, engineers, and project managers to design, build, deploy and enhance IT solutions for a large Federal Government program. 
  • Planning and designing systems to meet the evolving needs of the government customer.
  • Provide resource, technical, and process leadership for the team to identify and implement opportunities for service enhancements.
  • Manages and prioritizes information systems needs and analyzes project costs and feasibility through the use of Architecture Review Boards (ARB)s and Business Case Analysis.
  • Takes a consultive approach to enhancing support for the customer, and keeps well-informed of new technologies and industry best practices and trends.
  • Develops and administers schedule and performance requirements. May have budget responsibilities.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 10+ years of experience architecting and leading technical solutions implementation for End User Support and IT technical solutions, to include technology modernizations and ITSM integrations.
  • Must have the ITIL v4 Foundations Certification AND ITIL 4 Specialist High-Velocity IT or be a certified ITIL 4 Managing Professional. Please provide proof of certification or certification numbers when applying.
  • Must have a cloud certification at the “Professional” or "technical specialty" level. Please provide certification numbers or proof of certification when applying.
  • Managing IT Infrastructure engineering for a customer, supporting over 10,000+ users over multiple locations.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and DevSecOps (SecDevOps), and ITIL 4.
  • Experience implementing technical and process changes in a highly complex infrastructure environment, preferably for a federal government customer.
  • Prior experience architecting or being the technical lead for implementations of  DevOps/DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Agile, AI Ops, Automations, Virtualization, Microservices, IAAS (Infrastructure As A Service), IAC (Infrastructure as code), IDF (Infrastructure Defined Networks), SD Networking, and/or GitOps
  • Service Now certifications are preferred.

Security Clearance Level: The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Public Trust.

Location: Hybrid. Expect to spend 25% of the time in the office: Washington, DC, with occasional travel outside of the area.

Timeline: This is a contingent posting, expected to start sometime after July, 2025.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $158,846 - $214,910. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
