Job Description

GDIT is seeking a DevSecOps Lead that will play a key role in bridging the gap between development, security, and operations. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of security controls, automation, and monitoring throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of security best practices, CI/CD pipeline integration, and cloud infrastructure security. You will work closely with development, security and operations teams to create secure, reliable, and scalable systems.

Provide comprehensive DevSecOps services supporting USCENTCOM at HQ Tampa, Florida, including CONUS and OCONUS operations. As the DevSecOps Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that security is embedded into our development, deployment, and operations workflows from the start.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design and configure CI/CD pipeline using industry best practices and tools.

  • Conduct software engineering to develop new capabilities, ensuring cybersecurity is fully integrated.

  • Build and configure automated deployment routines.

  • Participate in Agile planning and support Agile development cadence.

  • Build solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

  • Create building blocks of reusable capabilities that can adapt to different customer environments.

  • Conduct comprehensive technology research to evaluate potential technical and procedural best practices in support of DevSecOps and IaC.

  • Build implementations that align with Software Development Life Cycle and ITIL best practices.

  • Develop and publish engineering architectural artifacts for reuse across the organization. 

  • Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to ensure continuous collaboration and transparency across teams. 

Education: 

  • B.A./B.S. Computer Science, or a related field. Alternatively, 5+ years of experience in DevSecOps. 

Required Skills: 

  • Experience using DevSecOps tools like Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms.

  • Familiarity with security testing tools, vulnerability scanning tools, and infrastructure as code (IaC) security.

  • Familiarity with security compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication (including executive level interface), work autonomously and in groups, highly organized, deadline-oriented, continuous-improvement mindset.

Desired Skills: 

  • Cloud certifications (AWS/Azure) are a plus.

  • Expertise in securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience working with military/government environments.

Clearance Requirement: 

  • Active Secret clearance required.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $106,250 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
