Job Description

GDIT is seeking a DLA Business Development Director to focus on pursuing opportunities and growing business with its Defense Agencies sector. This Director will lead business development concentrated on DISA.

The position will support our Defense Division and allows a hybrid schedule for candidates located in the National Capital Region. This position is based out of our Falls Church, Virginia office.

HOW A BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Manage all aspects of account growth, new business development and customer relationship management across all levels within assigned accounts. 
  • Meet with customers to understand the customer territory—relative to portfolio of deals
  • Develop a pipeline of new opportunities for assigned Sector or market segment 
  • Lead identification and qualification of new business opportunities that support the account plan, Sector growth goals, and submit targets, throughout the opportunity life cycle. 
  • Lead early development of win strategy during the Assessment Phase, prior to assignment of a Capture Manager
  • Lead identification, qualification, and capture on select OTAs with assistance from the Defense CTO/SA.
  • Execute call plans to collect information about particular opportunities; in collaboration with technical staff, proffers and tests potential solutions; qualifies opportunities; document customer meetings in Salesforce.  
  • Meet with OEM vendors, other GD business units, and potential industry partners to collect information about opportunities and customers
  • Develop customer relationships, improve customer intimacy
  • Identifies competitors, assess strategic fit, assess OCI
  • Prepare for and brief opportunities at formal gate reviews. 
  • Develop and brief Pursuit Reviews
  • Provide insight from customer point of view throughout opportunity life cycle.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: BS degree
  • Experience: 10+ years of Sales/BD/Capture/Proposal/ and/or operational experience within the DoD/DISA; Experience w\ Strategic Planning
  • Skills: Relationships with DLA stakeholders and Senior Leadership
  • Secret Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
  • US Citizenship required

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g. SalesForce), SharePoint, and all MS Office applications
  • Deep knowledge in at least one technical discipline, ie Cloud Services, Software Development, Networks
  • Relationships in additional Defense Agencies desired; DLA will be the primary growth responsibility for this role, but not the only agency

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $176,446 - $230,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
