GDIT has an opening for a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer Advisor position supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG) in Falls Church, VA. This is an IT Service Management contract in support of the operation, modernization, expansion, and further evolution of the ARNG’s global Information Technology (IT) services including networking, compute, storage, infrastructure, applications, hosting, and program management services. The GECOS program supports the ARNG enterprise IT infrastructure, its Wide Area Network (WAN), authentication and directory services, cybersecurity, application hosting, and associated services. GECOS uses the ITIL framework as the basis for delivering quality-measured IT services to the ARNG.

HOW A SENIOR CYBERSECURITY ENGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Provide technical engineering best practices to guide, direct, design, plan, and develop documentation for deployment of cybersecurity operations tools like SIEM, Logs management, and the like.
  • Able train, coach, and mentor mid and junior engineers as well as cross-functional personnel to effectively use cyber operations tools.
  • Experience with IT architecture/information systems compliance RMF Special publications, systems controls, enhancements, assessment procedures, implementation plan, system security plan (SSP) and the understanding of eMASS processes and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as required to fulfill contract requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: BS/BA and/or 10+ years of IT experience. Will consider other combinations of years of experience, degree, and certifications.

Required Technical Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years Red Hat Linux engineering.
  • 8+ years Windows Server engineering
  • Apply DISA STIGs and use of SCAP/SCC Scans tools (4 years)
  • CCRI & RMF (Processes/Procedures/Documentation)
  • PowerShell, Python, BASH scripting - (Nice to have all)
  • TLS, SSL Certificates
  • SIEM experience (Prefer Splunk (2 years) and Elastic Search and Stack – logstash, filebeat, winlogbeat, etc)
  • Apache Kafka/Confluent - (Nice to have)
  • ESX knowledge/experience
  • Storage experience (NetApp, SAN, etc.)
  • Good writing/documentation skills, with capability of interfacing with key government partners on operational and technical matters

Security Clearance Level: Must have and maintain a minimum of a DoD SECRET Clearance for the life of the contract.

Required Certification(s): DoD  8570 IAT II (Security + or equivalent). You are required to maintain and upgrade certifications IAW contract requirements.

Location: Most work performed at either Falls Church, VA site or at ARNG headquarters in Arlington, VA. Teleworking allowed at management discretion up to two days a week.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $134,597 - $204,360. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
