Our work depends on a Deploy Automation Engineer joining our MATS team remotely to support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.

GDIT supports CMS with new functionality development for Plan Management, Eligibility & Enrollment (E&E), Financial Management, Marketplace Consumer Record, and other Marketplace Health Exchange functional areas. As a Deploy Automation Engineer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Deploy Automation Engineer joining our team to analyze, design, code, and test multiple components of automated deployment pipelines across multiple application systems, and to perform maintenance, enhancements and troubleshooting of deployment tools. Work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

At GDIT, we put our people first. As a Deploy Automation Engineer, a typical day will include:

  • Seting-up, maintaining, and performing ongoing development of continuous build/ integration infrastructure.
  • Creating and maintaining fully automated CI build processes for multiple Linux environment environments.
  • Creating/updating build and deployment scripts.
  • Supporting CI/CD tools integration/ operations/ change management, and maintenance.
  • Supporting full automation of CD/Testing.
  • Developing policies, standards, guidelines, governance, and related guidance for both CD operations and for work of developers/infrastructure/O&M.
  • Enabling DevOps by moving code from Dev/ Test to Staging and Production.
  • Troubleshooting issues along the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Understanding the AWS Architecture.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5+ years of relevant hands-on Continuous Integration/Continuous Development (CI/CD) experience on Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Infrastructure
  • Advanced experience with RedHat Ansible and Jenkins software
  • Advanced experince with GIT
  • Proficient with AWS and Unix Platforms, including Linux/AIX/Solaris/Mac OS X/others
  • Proficient with Shell, Groovy, OpenShift, and Ansible Automation Platform
  • Proficient with Jenkins and Packer
  • Proficient with Sonar, Nexus, and Docker
  • Proficient with Bash and Java
  • Hands-on experience with Python and Terraform ​
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and frameworks such as, but not limited to: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban
  • Must be able to obtain Federal Public Trust clearance.
  • Must have established residency in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years.

Preferred Skills:

  • AWS Certification(s)
  • Agile certification in SAFe Practitioner, SAFe Agilist, CSM or other agile certifications
  • Healthcare Service Industry or Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) experience
  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence
  • Strong organizational, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and interact regularly with government and non-government stakeholders at multiple levels of authority

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $98,600 - $133,400. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
