Job Description

Logistics Analyst Advisor


Supports customer logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance, and/or repair activities. Performs functions such as Processing Work Orders, demand forecasting, material procurement, production planning, inventory control, inventory reductions, cost savings, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. Candidate will be responsible for fleet management - Shipping and Receiving. Creates integrated processes among internal functions and outside suppliers. Develops logistics policies and procedures.


GDIT has a new and exciting opportunity available for a Senior Logistician supporting our Military in Southwest Asia. The successful applicant must have an active U.S. Government issued SECRET clearance.  This position may require travel to outlying sites, work in austere environments, and working close with military customers.


 

How the Logistics Analyst Advisor will make an impact:

    • Reports to the WFS SWA RSC Site Lead and Deputy to keep them informed on all logistical mission-related requirements, progress, and to receive guidance, directives and changes in priorities as needed.
    • Create and enforce policies or procedures for logistics activities in GCSS-Army 4Sight and other Legacy STAMIS Systems.
    • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Train Shipping and Receiving department personnel in roles and responsibilities regarding department procedures.
    • Direct inbound or outbound logistics operations, such as transportation and warehouse activities, safety performance, and quality management.
    • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics, or customer issues.
    • Establish and monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
    • Plan and implement material flow management systems to meet customer requirements.
    • Provide training on all aspects of logistics to ensure all employees are following contract requirements for procedures and accountabilities.  
    • Create, and maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training processes.
    • Implement specific customer requirements such as, internal reporting and turn in and pick-up procedures to ensure metrics are in compliance with contact requirements.
    • Monitor systems drop off or return to customer processes to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
    • Ensure all processes and procedures are in compliance with company policies and/or procedures.
    • Design models for use in evaluating logistics programs or services.
    • Provide QA/QC over the work of logistics specialists, planners, or schedulers.
    • Develop risk management programs to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.
    • Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
    • Collaborate with logisticians assigned to all programs to integrate logistics with business systems and/or processes such as, order management, purchasing, or shipping.
    • Analyze all aspects of corporate logistics procedures and policies to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of managing assigned parts levels or supplies.
    • Direct or coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles, including acquisition, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, or final disposal of resources.
    • Review reports for ways to improve efficiency.
    • Provide processes and develop inventory control to account for property received, shipped, excessed, moved or transferred.
    • Interact with vendors to obtain information to reconcile purchase discrepancies and RMAs.
    • Acquired Property (CAP).-    Oversee program logisticians to ensure positive control of the Authorized Stock Listing (ASL), Government Funded Equipment (GFE) and Contractor.
    • Must have the ability to generate/produce data and reports needed for all required operations. 
    • Must demonstrate a high level of customer service skill and be able to present a positive approach with customers.
    • Proficient in MICROSOFT office.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What you'll need to be successfull:

  • Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree AA or equivalent
  • 10+ yrs related experience
  • Must have a working knowledge of the procedures and guidelines associated within the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Must have prior and successful leadership positions.
  • Ability to perform several tasks at one time, keep detailed records, and simultaneously manage several projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent mathematical ability and ability to think critically.
  • Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to meet internal paperwork requirements.
  • Calmness under pressure.
  • Must have experience operating in STAMIS; i.e., Legacy SAMS-E, SAARS, or PBUSE or commercial counterparts MMS, Cost Point, MAXIMO. 
  • Experience operating in GCSS-Army, manage all the functions associated with the GCSS-Army SAP applications, and at a minimum the GCSS-Army end user manual is a plus. 
  • Must have a current and active Secret clearance.
  • US passport must not expire for at least 2 more years and must have at least 4 blank pages in it.

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $91,800 - $124,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
